The best 5 Car GPS Devices

Mio MOOV 300
The Moov 300

In case the other GPS devices on this list have been a bit too expensive for you, the Mio MOOV 300 may be the bargain you’ve been searching for. If you do a little careful shopping, the Mio MOOV 300 can be purchased for only a little more than $100 and it even has all of the basic features you need to get up and navigate. It features voice directions, including a text-to-speech ability that allows it to read street names, an advanced system for rapidly locking in satellite signals, a multi-stop trip planner and the ability to load new maps of a memory card. Of course, these features are common on higher-end GPS devices, too, but if the Mio MOOV 300 has everything you need, why pay more?

The touch screen display is easy to read and fairly large at 4.3 inches (10.9 centimetres) while a favourites list lets you store up to 200 destinations. The MSRP is $229.95, but again, you should be able to find it for around $100 less.

Pros
Design, redesigned map and menu layout, text-to-speech, NavPix

Cons
No split-screen map, chunky window mount, delays when typing an address, no Bluetooth, no TMC antenna included

Bottom Line
As an entry-level unit, the Moov 300 is a solid GPS device and an ideal choice if you happen to be on a budget. It may lack the bells and whistles of its more expensive counterparts, but it nonetheless provides a reasonable navigational experience.
