Beyond the Hype: Testing the Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast’s True Range in Europe

Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast in Bulgaria: A Real Test of Power, Range, and Reality

The Tesla Cybertruck has achieved what few vehicles ever could—global notoriety. It divided enthusiasts and critics alike from the moment Elon Musk first revealed its angular, stainless-steel body. Whether hailed as a futuristic marvel or dismissed as a design mishap on wheels, the Cybertruck remains a cultural phenomenon that demands attention. Today, we dig into its real-world efficiency and driving range, with exclusive test results from Bulgaria—one of the first European road tests of the Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast.

A Design Meant to Shock

Few vehicles embody audacity like the Cybertruck. Made from ultra-hard stainless steel, it looks more like a CGI prop than an everyday utility vehicle. Its imposing stance hides cutting-edge EV technology beneath its armored aesthetic. However, the appeal isn’t just about looks—it’s about redefining what an electric pickup can achieve.

The model we tested, the Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast, produces 845 hp and a staggering 13,959 Nm of wheel torque, though that number is calculated creatively. In truth, actual torque delivery feels closer to 1,400 Nm, comparable to high-performance EVs like the Rivian R1T or Ford F-150 Lightning.

Real-World Range and Efficiency Testing

For our European test, we drove multiple identical routes under consistent conditions, with an ambient temperature of 21°C—ideal for maximizing EV performance. At moderate cruising speeds, the Cyberbeast proved surprisingly efficient given its size and weight. It starts less efficiently due to its mass, but once moving, energy consumption stabilizes impressively.

At 90 km/h, efficiency levels improved dramatically, nearly matching large luxury SUVs. At higher speeds—particularly around 130 km/h—the Cybertruck actually outperformed its rivals, thanks to its massive 123 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Range remains one of the strongest points, easily exceeding most electric pickup competitors when traveling long distances.

The Charging Reality

Every hero has a flaw—and for the Cybertruck, it’s charging time. Even using a 250 kW Supercharger, a 10–80% top-up takes over 30 minutes. The high-capacity battery ensures long driving intervals between charges but also demands more from charging networks. This means careful trip planning is a must, especially outside North America, where Tesla’s Supercharger network is less extensive.

The Competition: How It Stacks Up

Model Power (hp) Range (km/mi) Battery (kWh) 0–60 mph Towing (lbs) Charging (kW)
Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast 845 510 km / 320 mi 123 2.6s 11,000 250
Ford F-150 Lightning Platinum 462 528 km / 328 mi 131 4.1s 8,500 155
Chevrolet Silverado EV RST 754 708 km / 440 mi 205 3.8s 10,000 350
Rivian R1T Quad Motor 835 483 km / 300 mi 135 3.0s 11,000 200

Despite slightly shorter range claims compared to the Silverado EV, the Cybertruck holds its own with consistent high-speed efficiency and strong recovery behavior under regenerative braking.

Ownership Perspective

The Cybertruck is far from a sensible choice—especially for European buyers. It’s huge, heavy, expensive (around $100,000 for the Cyberbeast), and lacks a solid service infrastructure outside North America. Yet, for EV enthusiasts, it stands as a mechanical statement piece. Owners appreciate its commanding presence and power delivery, often participating in local car events and groups where the Cybertruck inevitably becomes the star attraction.

The Verdict

The Tesla Cybertruck Cyberbeast is simultaneously absurd and brilliant. It challenges how efficiency, design, and power coexist in an EV. While impractical for most, it’s undeniably groundbreaking—its combination of battery size, range stability, and futuristic technology demonstrates that Tesla’s iconoclasm still runs deep.

For those chasing extreme range and road presence, the Cybertruck remains a one-of-a-kind ride. But patience, planning, and deep pockets are prerequisites. In other words: it’s the electric pickup for those who want to do much more than just drive.
