Replacement: spark plugs – Nissan Qashqai J10. Professionals recommend:
- The replacement procedure is the same for all spark plugs.
- All work should be done with the engine stopped.
The Recommended Sequence Of Steps:
Step 1
Open the hood.
Step 2
Use a fender protection cover to prevent damaging paintwork and plastic parts of the car.
Step 3
Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the air duct. Use round-nose pliers.
Step 4
Unscrew the clamps and fasteners on the air filter intake pipe. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 5
Disconnect the air intake pipe from the air filter housing.
Step 6
Unscrew the fasteners connecting the throttle valve to the intake manifold. Use a drive socket #8. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 7
Release the clamp and detach the connector and the vacuum hose from the intake manifold near the throttle valve. Use round-nose pliers.
Step 8
Unscrew the fasteners of the intake manifold bracket. Use a drive socket #10.
Step 9
Detach the vacuum booster hose from the intake manifold.
Step 10
Unscrew the intake manifold fasteners. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 11
Remove the intake manifold.
Step 12
Cover the intake manifold passages with a microfibre towel to prevent dust and dirt from getting inside.
Step 13
Unscrew the ignition coil bracket. Use a drive socket #10.
Step 14
Take out the ignition coil from the spark plug well.
Step 15
Clean dirt, dust and debris from inside the spark plug well.
Step 16
Unscrew the spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket #16. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 17
Take out the spark plugs. Use a telescoping magnet.
Step 18
Apply a thin layer of a special high-temperature anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new spark plugs. Treat the surface of the terminals of the new spark plugs. Use electronic spray.
Step 19
Install the new spark plugs into their mounting seats.
Step 20
Screw new spark plugs and tighten them. Use the spark plug socket #16. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 25 nm torque.
Replacement: spark plugs – Nissan Qashqai J10. Tip:
Don’t tighten the plugs with excessive force. Exceeding tightening torque can damage the thread connection. Be careful when working with a spark plug wrench. Its skewing can cause damage to the threaded connection.
Step 21
Install the ignition coil to the spark plug well. Make sure you hear a click indicating that it is locked in place.
Dardoor recommends:
Follow the installation sequence.
Step 22
Tighten the ignition coil fastening. Use a drive socket #10. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 9 nm torque.
Step 23
Remove the microfibre towel from the intake manifold.
Step 24
Remove the intake manifold gasket. Use a flat screwdriver.
Step 25
Install the new intake manifold gasket.
Step 26
Install the intake manifold.
Step 27
Tighten the intake manifold fasteners. Use a drive socket #10. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 15 nm torque.
Step 28
Tighten the fasteners of the intake manifold bracket. Use a drive socket №10. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 15 nm torque.
Step 29
Attach the vacuum booster hose to the intake manifold.
Step 30
Squeeze and install the vacuum booster hose clamp. Use round-nose pliers.
Step 31
Install the throttle valve on the intake manifold.
Step 32
Tighten the throttle valve fasteners. Use a drive socket #8. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 16 nm torque.
Step 33
Attach the connector and the vacuum hose to the intake manifold near the throttle valve. Use round-nose pliers.
Step 34
Connect the air intake pipe to the air filter housing.
Step 35
Connect the crankcase ventilation hose to the air duct. Use round-nose pliers.
Step 36
Tighten the clamp and fasteners on the air filter intake pipe. Use a drive socket #10. Use a ratchet wrench.
Step 37
Run the engine for a few minutes. This is necessary in order to make sure that the component operates properly.
Step 38
Shut off the engine.
Step 39
Remove the fender protection cover.
