Honda leaves the Russian market in 2022
To be honest, this event was quite expected: sales of Honda fell and fell, and then fell so much that it became more unprofitable to conduct business. As the portal “AvtoVzglyad” found out, during 2022 Honda will stop supplying new cars to Russian dealers.
According to the official message sent out by the press service of the Japanese brand, the Russian office will focus on motorcycle and power equipment, and will also continue to provide services to the vehicles sold.
Today Honda offers the Russians only two models – the CRV and Pilot crossovers. Moreover, these popular models are the “cheese” of the market (or, if you like, “the susage”) is sold very sluggishly, because they ask at least 2,349,900 rubles (40K CA$, or 32k US$).
According to data published by the European Business Association, from January to November, a few Honda dealers were able to sell only 1,383 SUVs, while sales fell 15%. With such results, it really doesn’t make sense to hold on to the market.
