Home and Destination Charging (0 -> 100%)

Charging is possible by using a regular wall plug or a charging station. Public charging is always done through a charging station. How fast the EV can charge depends on the charging station (EVSE) used and the maximum charging capacity of the EV. The table below shows all possible options for charging the Audi e-tron GT RS. Each option shows how fast the battery can be charged from empty to full.

Fast Charging (10 -> 80%)

Rapid charging enables longer journeys by adding as much range as possible in the shortest amount of time. Charging power will decrease significantly after 80% state-of-charge has been reached. A typical rapid charge therefore rarely exceeds 80% SoC. The rapid charge rate of an EV depends on the charger used and the maximum charging power the EV can handle. The table below shows all details for rapid charging the Audi e-tron GT RS.

Charge speed

The charge speed for the Audi e-tron GT is up to 270 kW with 150+ kW fast chargers and up to 50 kW at other chargers. On average, the Audi e-tron GT charges 100 km in 5 minutes (150+ kW charger) or in 30 minutes (50 kW charger). At a 150+ kW charger, the charge speed will slowly drop as of 78%.

Start charge session

The Audi e-tron can have problems with starting a charge session. This is caused by the fact that the connector does not make a proper contact, which interferes with the communication between the car and the charger.
Our advice is to first start the charge session with the EV charge card, and then connect the connector to the car. It is important to push the connector firmly into the charge port until the charge session has started. If you experience this issue more often, you should contact your Audi dealer to have the charge port checked.

Unlock the connector

In some cases, the car may not release the connector.

Make sure the car is unlocked

Press the button next to the charging port a few times (the one that opens the charge port). If the connector is not removed within 30 seconds, it will be locked again automatically.

Should you still not be able to remove the connector, you can use the emergency release in the motor compartment (at your own risk). Open the bonnet and the cover in the motor compartment (on the side of the connector). Release the yellow ring from the holder and carefully pull it (the red ring is for the charging unit cover). You can now unplug the connector.
